Custom Built for Your Space

Every media wall is designed around your room and your requirements. No templates, just a design that fits.

What Is a Media Wall?

A media wall is a purpose-built feature wall designed to house your television, electric fire and any storage or shelving you need. Everything sits flush against the wall, hiding cables and clutter behind a clean, finished surface.

The result is a modern focal point that brings together entertainment and warmth in one place. No more TV stand taking up floor space. No more cables trailing across the skirting board. Just a tidy, stylish setup that makes your living room feel bigger and more considered.

Electric Fires for
Media Walls

The electric fire is often the centrepiece of a media wall. We can help you choose the right fire for your space, whether you want a wide panoramic flame effect or something more compact.

Electric fires are ideal for media walls because they don't need a chimney or flue. They simply plug in, which means we can position them anywhere on the wall. Most come with adjustable flame effects and optional heat output, so you can enjoy the look of a fire year-round without overheating the room in summer.

We have media wall fire options on display in our showroom, so you can see the flame effects in person before you decide.

Custom
Media Wall Designs

Every media wall we build is designed around your room and your requirements. There's no one-size-fits-all template. We'll talk through what you want to include and how you want it to look.

Common features include:

Recessed TV mounting - Your television sits flush with the wall for a clean, built-in appearance.

Electric fire - Positioned below the TV or offset to one side, depending on your preference.

Storage and shelving - Space for set-top boxes, games consoles, soundbars and anything else you want to keep tidy.

LED lighting - Accent lighting to highlight the fire or add ambience to the room.

Cable management - All wiring hidden behind the wall, with access points where you need them.

We can work with different finishes too. Whether you want a painted surface, textured panels or something else entirely, we'll make sure it fits with your existing decor.

Media Wall Installation Process

A typical media wall installation takes three to four days, depending on the size and complexity of the design.

Here's what to expect:

Day 1

We build the framework and structure of the media wall. This involves creating the recesses for your TV and fire, and any shelving or storage areas.

Day 2

Electrical work and fitting the components. We'll wire in your TV points, electric fire and any lighting. Everything is tested to make sure it works properly.

Day 3

Finishing and plastering. We'll skim the surface so it's ready for painting. Some jobs are complete at this stage.

Day 4 (if needed)

Final touches and snagging. We'll make sure everything is finished to a high standard before we leave.

We don't paint the finished wall as standard, since most people prefer to do this themselves or have their decorator match it to the rest of the room. If you'd like us to handle painting, just let us know.

Media Wall FAQs

How long does a media wall installation take?
Most media wall installations take three to four days. This includes building the framework, fitting the electrical components, and finishing the surface ready for painting.
Do I need a chimney for a media wall fire?
No. Media wall fires are electric, so they don't need a chimney or flue. They simply plug into a standard socket (which we'll install behind the wall).
Can I have a media wall if I rent my home?
That depends on your landlord. A media wall is a permanent installation that involves building onto the wall, so you'd need permission before going ahead.
How much does a media wall cost?
It depends on the size, design and features you want. The easiest way to get an accurate price is to send us some photos and details of what you're looking for.
Do you supply the TV?
No, we don't supply televisions. You can either use your existing TV or buy one separately. Just let us know the size so we can build the recess to fit.
Will you paint the media wall?
We finish the wall ready for painting, but we don't paint it as standard. Most customers prefer to do this themselves or have their decorator match it to the room. If you'd like us to paint it, we can discuss this.
Can I see a media wall before I commit?
Yes. We have media wall displays in our showroom in Houghton le Spring. You can see different fire options and get a feel for how they look in person.
